Even IF Ricker didn't hear anything but "barbaric" barks, it would be an extreme of vicious bigotry to execute an animal for presuming to bark at you, especially if it's a dog that your enemies have been mean to and who isn't threatening you at all! Even most arrogant contempt towards the help doesn't feel the need to MURDER them for asking to serve you against those you are currently at war.

Judith, your argument requires that Ricker _speaks the language_ that Masek made his speech in. I imagine that Ricker and his soldiers only speak modern tainish (or whatever Alderode's "normal" language is called).
