I saw! And I checked the 16_52 comic again; bearded guy was indeed Glover all along. Seems he kept advertising his draws to the very end.

RIP the last of the funky lil' lion helmets. I liked how you could angle the eye holes to make them look like they were emoting different expressions. Alas. The one wearer of said funky lil' helmets I did root for, the One Good Boi, had already passed away so... tough luck, last lone competent Soud wright whose name I probably could find if I carefully re-read Duane's dialogue earlier when he phased ya through the ceiling.
