This whole chapter is just staggeringly good. This has been my favorite comic for many years, but it's rapidly becoming my favourite story in any medium (and I've been consuming books and films at an astonishing rate since early childhood). Your world building skills surpass any I've seen elsewhere, your characters are so rich, and the story so well plotted... On top of that, this amazing art. All I can say is that if you finish this, at some point it's going to find its place as a classic. Possibly even if you don't (but I hope you do, and that I'm still around when you bring it all home!).

Pretty much. If this was a shounen fighting manga, Duane would break the whole thing. Instead, for the most part, it's a character-driven drama, and in that respect Duane is very vulnerable and low level.

It’s funny, right—Duane’s OP AF, but he doesn’t suffer Superman Syndrome (boring character). I THINK it’s because he is defined by his flaws and the story values people above powers.
