For all the violence and hate in the story, there's a repeated theme of true growth and progress only happening when someone takes the high road, dulls the sharp edge of their tongue, and speaks from a place of generosity and empathy.

I'm reminded of the earlier moment where Duane's compassion undoes Quigley, although of course the Queen is made of stronger stuff.
