This is the last chapter of Book 1 (I mean it this time!) and starts right where we left off - in the thick of things. If you'll recall, Karl here had a little freak-out and tried to go for Queen Sonorie. She very mercifully had him hauled off rather than beheaded right there in front of her (to be fair, she's wearing almost all white today and decapitations do spatter something fierce). While the bunker seems to be standing, it doesn't look like it escaped the Aldish attack unscathed. And about those Alds... they really should be somewhere around here...
