I don't really have much sympathy for the Queen here because hey, you signed up for this. You don't get to complain when you feel bad after seeing the sausage get made in person. How many other schemes that grind people up have the Queen and Alderode done that have their own stories we didn't see? It's just that as always, innocent and good people are in the way and Duane has his own perspective on the trolley problem that HE sees.
