I like how quickly and instinctively he moves to anger at himself - which is old habit, which is classic Duane - but then has come far enough that he's finally able to forgive himself. It's no one's fault that he died, not even his own.
This is actual growth, to me. Not being scolded like a child in the dark. Not that Litriya wasn't important, but I really don't think you can move forward in life without forgiving yourself for being human.
Anyway, Murkoph! Everyone's favourite :3 Let's see if Duane hangs out here or maaaaaybe remembers that he's only here because he was hired as someone's attack zombie, and his shift may be about to start.

Duane is like so many people I've met, where I should hate them on principle but I see how they became what they are, and meanwhile they have a certain charm; that poor, stupid, deluded bastard, is all I can think, really.

I expect updates to take us through the rest of the year. I added so much more to this chapter to really help it feel like a proper conclusion. Hiatus shouldn't be more than a few months. I like to make comics too much to stop doing it for too long :) Good luck in nursing school! That's exciting!

How many more pages left in Book 1, Ash? And how long of a hiatus do you plan on afterwards? I start nursing school Monday! I think I'll miss Unsounded while you take your much deserved break but it comes at a good time for me to remain focused! Unless I accidentally start rereading the whole comic again to look for things I missed...
