It's maybe a little saccharine, but it's squishes that make everything better, and all the love and camaraderie that inspires them :) Power of friendship, baby!

If that's saccharine, it's still true. Or you could say it's a sweetness the story has earned. I think when I first truly fell in love with Unsounded was at the Deadly Nevergreen when Anadyne asks Cutter if he's doing this and he says, "No, YOU are. All of you." That cooperation, kindness and camaraderie will triumph their opposites in this story is a deceptively simple truth on par with the bit in Harry Potter where Dumbledore tells him that what makes him different from Voldemort is his ability to love, and Harry all but rolls his eyes out of his head at how cheesy that sounds but then Obi Wan Dumbledalf points out that he's never even considered joining the Dark Side, and Harry's all, because they killed my parents and Sirius, and he's like, yeah, idiot, that's how you're protected by love. Also, in Anadyne's final moments, I hope she is warmed by the thought that at least she got to take a dump in Nary's shoes.

this feels heart-warmingly triumphant. I never thought I'd consider one child biting another child on the face to be a good thing, but here we are! That being said, my god poor Ana. Matty wins the award for 'deserves his fate the least' by virtue of being a baby and ray of sunshine but dang, Ana gets that 2nd place trophy for sure. I know from Sessine's perspective she's the hero here but rn I want to see the titty bird get fucked up. Ruin her big day, Sette, you earned this.

Interesting. When I left the comment on monday about how survivable IRL Knock's wound is, I was actually thinking about whether or not you'll bring her right back. I guess I was wrong in the assessment, she seems to have face and shoulder wounds, but maybe no arteries in the neck got torn. Either way... Well done, Sette. I guess she can just leave into the normal world right here and Sessine wouldn't be able to follow.

Khette's face goes from thinking there's no way Sette's about to do what she looks like she's gonna do (bite her), to realizing she is (gonna bite her), then just the "OH NO AAAAA" of being bit on the face. Just like Sette bit Ephsephin all those chapters ago.

(I can see why these were some of your favorite pages. You must have had a lot of fun with all of those expressions. But OUGH I was happier when I was too hype for Knock's return to look too closely at Ana. I was vaguely aware she was getting bits bitten and torn off, but now I looked closer and GYHHRGHHH all of that plus that one panel looks so horribly violating. I'm not easily rattled - like I don't mind the eye gore there, which I know will squick many people - but that did get to me. Poor Ana, one of the worst fates. Very climactic.)
