There is a lot of tall ship love in this story. We'll start out with some conventional crafts, but they're going to get weirder... and so will the people who crew them...

Even though you forgot to mention so, it's somehow clear that this is her Dad's last voyage before retirement. Good on him - will finally get some well deserved R&R rebuilding relationship with the rest of his family. Including his wife who was his childhood friend who promised to always wait for him to return, looking at the far see longingly, which she continues to do to this day.

No clue, and I'm sure Ashley's researched the ever-loving shit out of ships, but it could always be some fantasy version of a ship we don't have an analogue for. Though as I write this I wonder if there are so many types of tall ships that that's not even possible.

Love this page. That poor crew is in so much trouble. Also, what is that? A schooner? I remember when I was a kid and going through my pirate phase, I taught myself to recognize most types of sailing ships on sight, but I’m afraid I’ve gotten a little rusty since then.
