Changes next for month

So i have thought this one through.
Starting from next month im going to enable the charge upfront feature of patreon. I had to think about this since this a permanent thing.
I really didnt want to do this to be honest, but i dont see any other option anymore.
The reason i finally decided was this months (may) cycle.
+-130$ worth of scam pledges.
The fact i reached that second goal based on a lie, seeing my pledge total going from 512$ back to 380$ is pretty sad to see.
Its the first time its so much, ive seen plenty of people pledging and then cancelleling right before the month ends.
Or pay 1 month and then pledge-cancel to make it even harder to spot.
(and it is hard to spot seriously)
So ill be honest.
I am completely done with it. Im done with having to go through paperwork to find out whos legit and who isnt, im done with questioning wether or not these new patrons are legit or if im facing another landslide by the end of the month.
So if you are reading this and you are one of these people that do this:
Do you work for your boss for free?
Oh u dont? Why are you so unreasonable? Why dont you work for free? What the hell is wrong with you?
Oh u mean he pays you for your time! Now i understand!
Then why the fuck do you think you are entitled to MY time and effort for free? Or do you think these things just pop into existance out of thin air?
Ive put so much content out there for free, content i worked hours upon hours on. Content created with programs i paid money for.
RAADD is entirely free, yet money has been invested in it as well in order to make it better. Learned UNITY to make it better ffs.
But no, thats not enough. Better complain about a fucking paywall.
Well heres a little something for ya:
When we did a open donation, we got 80$ in the span of nearly 2 years.

I went on patreon with the idea that people who liked my work, would be able to donate some money in return to fund my time working on these things. My main problem is: I make animations, not pictures.
Im unable to post animations for each and every tier at a consistent level.
I just cant humanly do it.
I think most of my patreons understand this and are just here to support me with whatever money they can spare.
But this is the problem i ran into, i found out that i cant do both.
I cant release free animations the same way as before and im not sure how to go about this yet.
So im gonna ask my patreons now:
Would you think it is unfair to you if i started releasing older patreon-only animations in the future?
Either way, i hope you guys understand my reasoning here.
Its just yea, im annoyed by the inflated image, saddened when i see over a fifth of my pledges dissapear overnight without paying anything, frustrated by how hard it is to figure out who the bad apples are...
And so it comes to me having to enable this charge upfront feature so i hopefully wont have to deal with this shit every fucking month anymore.

Well have a good sunday guys and thanks a ton for your support, believe me when i say that 400$ a month changes ones life dramatically when you had to scrape pennies every month just to buy food prior to that.
Dont take that as an appeal to make you feel sorry for me or something.
Im only saying that to show you how big of an impact your support has had on me :) And i hope i can keep this going in the future

Hey Trit. I understand your pain. And I whole heatedly support you in showing older animations for free. You still gotta sell yourself. Heck, I'd be alright with "snippits" of newest stuff ending right at the good bits to entice pledges. Either way, I'm here to support an artist I value.
I don't know why it isn't set that way by default. What is the point of having a paywall if you don't enforce it. Like others have said, those who are really supporting you won't care.

Yea the ones here already wont see any changes, This is only to make new patreons pay upfront when they pledge. Im just doing it trying to weed out all those fake pledgers

Yeah if thats the case, i can see the irony. I just cannot understand how people go to work and expect to be paid for their time. Whilst at the same time when it comes to what im doing here, expecting to be entitled to my time for free.

No dude, this isnt about you or people being late with their payments.. idc about that. I understand that not everyone will be able to pay at the 1st of every month. I usually only look at it around the 10th to see if everythings ok. Im talking about people that pledge and then cancel at the end of the month to avoid paying anything. My counter was on 512$, it flipped to 380$ And all of THOSE pledges, were fake and/or frauds. Those are the ppl im talking about
I'm uncertain whether this month I was a part of it, I just recently had to replace my missing card, and it took me a while to go through the stupid process that that entails. If I was, I apologize. Should have my card finalized again soon and should be back to regular contribution.

I just got my paycheque and started supporting today. I agree with what youre doing. Just find it slightly ironic this post happened the same say.
Go for it. As far as I can tell legit patrons will be relatively unaffected.
