Short Update
🕑 Added 2022-01-22 22:42:16 +0000 UTCHey everyone! Wanted to give a quick update; I've had a couple issues hamper progress a bit, though neither has been a deal-breaker.
I had a minor scene corruption which set me back a bit of work. I'd accidentally opened up the most recent scene file in 2.93 and saved over it (the main project is on 3.0). This messed up some constraints and drivers, which had to be re-done, along with some animation work. Should be all good now, and I think it actually turned out a bit better than it would have otherwise (still annoying, of course). I'll have a final preview of this sequence going up soon.
I also quit nicotine cold-turkey! I've been vaping the past 5 years fairly heavily, and it was finally time. I've done it before so I knew what was in-store, but this time I avoided using any nicotine cessation methods (gum, lozenge, etc), as I felt that just stretched the process out.
I'm 8 days in and it has been brutal! I got VERY sick about 5 days ago; I actually thought it may have been Covid. Basically bedridden with nausea and a headache, congested, throwing up. I suppose it could have been a regular cold, but I believe it was "quitter's flu" (it's a thing, lol). I think my body was so used to running with nic that the sudden lack of it sent it into a bit of a shock. I'm still coughing up phlegm (a result of the lungs healing, I assume), but I'm much better and can already feel an improvement in my breathing. Energy levels and irritability aren't great, but I know that'll get better and better as the body adepts.

I appreciate that, Mike! Yeah the cough is still here, but I definitely feel better. Energy wise I'm good, and I'm finally past the point where I stop reaching absentmindedly for a vape that isn't there. π€£ Overall it's been straightforward, but letting my guard down after the first few weeks was what did me in last time, so I'm staying sharp. π

Baron, I also quit many years ago now. I know your pain and suffering! The constant hacking cough will be with you for any where from a couple weeks to many months. You had it right, your lungs are healing. If you can exercise, it will go quicker and a bit easier. Please, if for no other reason than your fans, stick with it. We want you around for a long time. I stopped smoking years ago, and sometimes i still feel the need... I'm glad you did too, and it gets easier with time but it is a lifetime willpower check... I wish you bon courage !

Jesus, mate. That sounds terrible and something I will have to prepare for as I'm trying to quit smoking and vaping at the moment. For now, I hope things get better for you and soon.
