I noticed that as early as the sketch and refused to change it because I hate Duane Adelier!Additionally, I forgot his Lions of Mercy emblem on the previous pages, but we'll chalk that up to fuzzy dream visuals, eh?

He's claiming the gods never existed. The Black Tongues are hardline atheists but in a weird Kasslynian way, where they obviously believe in - what to our eyes would be - supernatural figures and forces, but refuse to bend a knee or pay any attention to figures whose existences cannot be proven. So no gods, no Ssael, and most do not believe in reincarnating, immortal souls.
Could you (someone) clarify something? I think the black tongue is saying the Gods never EXISTED, but someone else read it to mean "never were KILLED." Which is the correct meaning of his words? I'm sure I'm right, but that's possibly because my interpretation gibes with my own belief system (am I a black tongue??! You know, without the cool powers....?) Amazing beautiful work as always. 💜
