Creator Blog #28 - Update on sponsorship
🕑 Added 2023-01-12 15:00:01 +0000 UTCIt’s nice to start the new year with a sponsored video. The video published on January 7 (covering Jackson Heights) was sponsored by italki.
Potential sponsors reach out all the time. Majority of them are not quality leads. Some are even scams or contain some sort of malware.
But when quality inquiries do come in, it’s important to always have a presentation deck ready to send over. My presentation deck contains the following:
- A channel introduction
- The demographic breakdown of the channel’s audience (This is slightly modified to highlight data that a potential sponsor might find attractive)
- Future projections on engagement and overall channel growth
- Examples of previous sponsorships
This information is templated and only needs an hour’s worth of modification whenever someone has an inquiry. Being proactive pays off in this industry.

Nice! 🙌
I guess it worked out because I got the deal, lol!
Yes! It's so hard to navigate this world because it's very new. Even finding an agency to work with is hard because there's not common industry term for what they do (at least not yet). Did it work out for you? It's nice when you have something started, it's much easier to edit and refresh over time.
Great tips! I had a request for a media kit thrown at me for the first time a couple years ago and quickly threw together a one-pager that includes a brief intro, key search terms people use to find me, metrics on views and watch time, and audience demographics. There's very little information out there about what specifically advertisers are looking for from creators - I assume this is "industry" knowledge that a manager would know if I had one 😆
