🕑 Added 2025-04-06 20:47:08 +0000 UTCI won't sugar coat it... This was an emotionally overwhelming experience for me the entire way through. A visually stunning film but deeply haunting in every way. I was floored by its bold portrayal of love, loss, and the afterlife. How it used vivid, oil-paint imagery to explore grief and devotion in a way that felt surreal yet painfully real. The idea of love so strong that it literally defies even the boundaries of death is incredibly moving. I found myself afterwards reflecting on the nature of our soul. It's connections and the sacrifices we make for those that we love and would do absolutely anything for. This felt like so much more than a movie. It felt like a meditation on what healing looks like and the power that true love can really bring.

Even though I most likely don't have the heart to watch this movie ever again 😭 I am so thankful for the experience and can now add a beautiful, deeply moving to my Robin Williams experience. I saw this movie many years ago and it still got to me. The dialogue is so well written and the visuals are so stunning that it draws you into each scene. No worries about the tears…you weren’t alone 😊

If anyone is still interested in the Afterlife, Next Level Soul podcast and Anthony Chene production have some good information. You can find them both on Youtube. I remember watching this movie when it first came out in the late 90's and I didn't really understand it. And since then, I've lost many close relatives, especially during Covid, and that got me questioning what it might be like when we die. So I read a lot of books about Near-Death Experiences: some from Raymond Moody, Eben Alexander, Jeffrey Olsen and Betty Eadie. Now, watching this movie for the first time again, it makes a lot of sense. My grandmother used to tell me that death is not the end, it's only a transformation, like a caterpillar to a butterfly.
