🕑 Added 2025-06-01 14:00:16 +0000 UTCThis film was like a jigsaw puzzle made of grit, rhythm, and style lol. Even though some parts were a little tough to sit through (mostly the language and the violence) it's impossible not to appreciate the artistry behind this one.
Vince and Mia were my favorites. There was something about their scenes that felt so hypnotic. The way they moved through the world. Almost like floating. Every moment with them felt electric and strangely tender, like danger and charm rolled into one.
And Jules? I feel like he is the Fury we would have gotten if Disney didn't own Marvel 🤣 Same power, same intensity, but raw and unfiltered. Every time he opened his mouth, I was locked in.
The soundtrack was AMAZING. I've been humming Urge Overkill all night lol. I love when a film appreciates music so much that it becomes the main front and center to keep the vibe going. Tarantino somehow made every song feel like a character, with its own arc and feeling.
All in all, I see why this film is so iconic! It's messy, bold, beautifully structured in all of its crazy chaos. It's unapologetically itself. And I love that about it! Even when it made me uncomfortable, I couldn't look away. It's the kind of film that stays with you for a while. Not because it's perfect, but because it knows exactly what it is.

I can see that.. Last year I'd never be able to watch a movie like The Thing and live to see the next day lol. Now look at me 🤣 I agree with spacing films like this out though. Too many back to back sounds too intense

Tarantino does like his F bombs and lots of blood. You'll find this in all his films. So be warned. I'd spread his films out so you don't become overloaded with the language and violence. Sadly I used to be like you, but if you watch a lot of films, you'll eventually become numb to the language and violence.

Remember to go back and watch Reservoir Dogs.. his first flim.. and then before he made that he wrote the screenplay for the film True Romance..which was directed by Tony Scott(Top Gun, The Last Boy Scout).. I recommend both.. then from there tackle the films in release order, post Pulp Fiction.

Ok - time for you to check Nick Fury's tombstone in Winter Solider! This is such a great movie - I recommend Kill Bill as your next venture in to Tarantino's films!

This was an awesome (somewhat insane) intro to Tarantino! But I'm here for it honestly. Baptism by fire is exactly right lol. This movie was intense and not easy to watch, but I'm already seeing why it's such a great starting point. The dialogue was incredible! So natural and perfectly tailored to each character like you said! You forget that it was even 'written' out and part of a whole script. Thank you for the syncing issues! Not sure why that keeps happening. I do remember taking a bathroom break during this one because I had too much caffeine, so I wonder if I just didn't hit it right on the edit lol. Or maybe my internet buffers sometimes? I do notice the audio will sometimes clip out when I'm watching so maybe my internet struggles and causes a blip/delay. But I'm glad it wasn't too hard to sync back up!

Welcome to the wonderful world of Tarantino Kali! 😊 A bit of a baptism by fire. And not always easy to watch. But I think probably the best film to start your Tarantino journey. He really is a master at writing dialogue. It never feels disingenuous. Always interesting. It always feels like the character would actually say the words. You never see the hand of the writer in the lines. Looking forward to watching you check some more of his movies! I did notice my copy go out of sync a couple times. Not sure when it happened. Or why. But I did resync a couple times during the film. Not a big deal. Just an FYI
