Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith | Full Reaction

Of course I went into this film knowing Anakin's fall, but I wasn't prepared for how heavy it felt actually witnessing it all. There is pure tragedy at the heart of this story. Anakin's transformation into Darth Vader isn't as easy and sudden as I imagined it to be back in Episode IV. His fall is built on vulnerability and loss. Honestly, watching him slip further into Palpatine's influence was devastating and infuriating.
Every warning, every moment of hesitation, made me want to just grab him and yell STOP. WAKE UP. But his love for Padme blinded him. He even said it in the very beginning of this film. And Padme's own arc was one I was not expecting. The strong Queen we met in Episode I was replaced by a sidelined and powerless shadow. It left me feeling frustrated and deeply sad for her.
This chapter was devastating. There was no clean resolution. Just the weight of consequences and the silence that follows betrayal. It was truly haunting, not because of the shock factor, but because it felt so human.
I loved my time in these movies so far, I'll see you all in the next one! Thank you for being on this journey with me!

That line about liberty dying with thunderous applause is one of my favorite lines as well, but not only for it's tales of history. I feel, especially in modern times, it only serves as proof of how much society doesn't learn from it ๐ฅบ

You've got a lot of long well thought out comments here, but all I really wanted to add is that I hope you really consider taking a detour before episode 7 and watching Rogue One. Trust me and the others that have suggested it. It will have the most impact on you if you watch it next instead of waiting.

I do think Hayden was a great choice and plays Anakin and eventually Darth Vader well. But, yeah the chemistry between him and Natalie just isn't there. I also think the love story writing and dialogue between them was pretty terrible and cringey which I'm sure exacerbated it. There's a few years in between Attack of the Clones and this one. That's why Anakin has become more humble (slightly) and Obi-Wan has stopped treating him like the petulant teenager he was. Their experiences during the Clone Wars also had a lot to do with their now more mutual respect. This movie really brings home what a master manipulator Palpatine is. I mean in Ep 1 he goes from a small world Senator to the Supreme Chancellor, but we don't get to see too much of how it happens. We see him manipulate Padme, but we don't see how he rises to power. Watching him with Anakin it becomes obvious how good he is at it. I don't know how you make the character killing children, not once but twice now, sympathetic. But somehow George Lucas pulls it off. When Anakin is good, you just want to root for him. But when he goes dark he goes really dark. That's why I feel Hayden did such a great job. Not many people can capture that dichotomy. So glad you enjoyed it! The sequels aren't as good in my opinion but definitely have their moments and are worth the watch!
