I haven't used this in a production fashion of course but it does seem like a solid machine.

I ran racks of M2s and M3s a few years ago in a cluster running RHEL 5. I remember them taking forever to startup but once they were on they were golden.

Yeah I'll mount those with a live CD or something later! I couldn't get it to boot from USB and I was running out of steam haha

Interesting to see there's an OS on the drives. I would've tried the trick with setting init to /bin/sh if the version of GRUB that's on there lets you edit the boot entry.
