It's VERY easy. I've done it. All you need to do is pull the ISA flash card out and plug a video card in. Then you can boot a DOS floppy no problem, and optionally use the IDE channels. You don't even need to change BIOS settings.

I didn't try it but yeah those 515Es look totally custom.

Fascinating, I have tried a PCI video card in the later PIX 515E, but by that point Cisco seems to have moved to a fully custom BIOS and nothing would happen on the display (although the Cisco BIOS could see it)

I wondered about acquiring a PIX 520 and putting Linux on it as a firewall. I would call it LinPIX 520. }:-)
