New in Box Sun Ray 150
🕑 Added 2024-10-30 05:26:42 +0000 UTCDiving into this new in box Sun Ray 150 for an upcoming video. Haven't powered it up yet but it's looking really promising.
A very odd side note about it, this unit belonged to a company called Access Graphics, a big Sun distributor in the late 1990s, who just so happened to be operated by John Ramsey, the father of JonBenét Ramsey, a six year old girl who was mysteriously killed in her home in Colorado in 1996. So that's weird.

Yep, all Sparc stuff seems to be triple digits. At least I could easily recreate the experience I had on a pi zero!

Ha that's awesome! Yeah it's wild how expensive they've gotten, considering there were probably a lot of them made.

I *think* there is a way to get the Sun Rays assigned to different servers on the same network, but worst case I could just build two networks haha

That little sun IPX shot at 7:03 made me gasp. I had a little sparc station classic (same form factor) that I use to run Debian on back in the early to mid 2000s. Good times! Tried looking to see if there’s any on eBay but they’re like $200+! It would cool to see one again but not for that much coin.

Just watched your video, love it. Would be awesome to see an old server running of Solaris. Can you run multiple versions of Solaris on the same network without issues?
