You're lucky to have a hard drive! 😆

Joe Perry

My Model 60 is a full tower with a carrying handle. It's a beast!

I've got to get my PS/2 Model 60 up and running. I've got an issue with the hard drive that I'm still trying to resolve. Maybe there is dial up and our future? A cross country PS/2 party?

Matthew Kriebel

EtherLink III MCA "3C529-TP". Chip is AT&T 8370-03. Judging by the extra contacts on the card, it's 32-bit though. 😭

John Osborne

@Matthew Kriebel Which model is it? (my PS/2 only has 16 bit slots :( ) How much do you want for it?

clabretro

I'll DM ya when my token ring attempt implodes :D

Matthew Kriebel

I have a 3com MCA Ethernet card I don't need.

John Kiniston

I’m excited to see you boot a machine over token ring.

Mac Folklore Radio

Boot ROMs? No, RIPL chips!

clabretro

In middle school we had a class called “Business” that taught typing, taxes, and check writing/balancing. We had IBM PS/2 computers on a token ring network. I remember looking at the connections and seeing a BNC T-connector and cables on either end so that it was a logical ring for all the computers to be connected to. Then fast forward to high school, we got a donation of PS/2 PCs to use for typing and the yearbook team to design our yearbooks. This was all in the early 90’s as well.

That's a weird coincidence; over the weekend I won a bargin PS/2 Model 57SX and a Token Ring MCA card for it (I'd like ethernet but the prices are a bit high!)

Rob Tongeman

In my first job in 1990, our office had these and there was one 'drooled' over tower unit too....

TrolleyMC

Nice beautiful machine, should be good for Windows 3.1 or OS/2. It's MCA, good luck with that.
