Terror in the Tundra Cage Tile
🕑 Added 2024-03-03 06:45:47 +0000 UTCThis ended up a bit of fun to sculpt and went off on a bit of a tangent from the plan of just being prison walls, but hopefully it was worth the wait :)
I've added all the files to -- 000 New Files --\Upgrade Set - HQ04 Terror in the Tundra and will be working on a build guide tomorrow to show how it all goes into place on Quarter 3 of the HeroQuest board.
I'd advise using a brim on walls and doors to avoid any spaghetti with the printing of the bars. With the cage and columns I've added built in supports to keep everything in place. Be careful when removing to not break the chains. I found holding the pully and twisting the support the easiest way to remove.
There's a new DD Level tile with a pit in the middle to make things a little more worrying for any cage occupants with vertigo. There's a good opportunity to add some trap inserts into the pit so will be working on some of those next :)
I've also added -- 000 New Files --\Essentials - Tokens\Potions which contains the first of some fun little potion tokens. They come with an editable text layer for use in Prusa Slicer - just right click the text layer to add your own names for the potions. I've used the font Lora available for free here https://fonts.adobe.com/fonts/lora
More of these to come if everyone likes them :)

Is there a Terror in the tundra original file set?

Look forward to it

Not on the Patreon as it's all fantasy focused. The HVAC tunnels on the store a pretty popular for Space Hulk https://dragons.rest/products/hvac-tunnels There's sci fi tiles in the Outpost Origins corridors but I don't have any full sci-fi tile sets yet. I wouldn't mind doing some once the Sentinel City Kickstarter is finished up :)

I didn’t realise 😵 with the different names I never associated them so loving it even more now. Space hulk, Star Wars imperial Assault and aliens just another day in the core are ones I would love to make 3d maps of too I don’t suppose there’s any from them ?

Hey Steven, Yep these ones work with the Frozen Horror which is still in progress. Craggy Keep has Kellars Keep covered and Wrath of the Shadowmage has everything for Return of the Witch Lord. My Ogre Horde turned up this morning too so I'll probably be on that in May once the all the frozen stuff is finished.

Will you be doing board tiles for the hero quest expansions ?
The Dragon's Rest
With the hot end movements on the bridging between the bars and any curling you might get near the top of the arch you are more likely to have it knock the print slightly. It's not normally a problem with larger prints but the brim on the base will give the part more surface area contact with the bed to help hold it in place. So yes you're doing it right :)

Essentials - Tools\Dragons Rest Clip System\DRCS Clip v01.STL is the standard one used

My original plan was to use disk magnets for the walls / doors, ball magnets for the floors / corridors. Turns out the disk magnets push each other away stronger than the ball magnets can pull, so I use clips to clip the floors for each quarter together, ball magnets to attach the corridors. I've only done one quarter though so am going to run a test with the tab clips for walls and doors so I might keep the floors separate after all, or the tip above to just keep them separate and box them in with clipped corridors.

Personally, I use the legacy clips which I find to be stronger (keep breaking the new ones when inserting) and then the single disk ones for disk magnets, the ones with the small hole for ball magnets and the regular ones. Where the discrete clips can be used, I just glue the magnet in, so doors and secret doors.

What clips do you use? I am new to printing out these tile sets, and I haven't seen clips yet, or know which to use

So you advice to use brim on the walls to avoid problems. Not sure if I am doing it right, as the only place I get a brim, is by the base of the walls. Does this help with the bars at all?
Buuteheweun
I see, so then the corridors prevent the magnets in the rooms from pushing each other away, but you still benefit from walls that don't get bumped over easily. And you only have to unclip a few sections after play to store the corridors. Something for me to consider, thanks, this is a good tip!

I have a Flashforge Adventurer 3 The print size is 150 x 150 x 150
The Dragon's Rest
The way I do it is to only clip the corridors and the rooms just float inside the corridor frame.

What size printer are you using? The 4x4 pieces should fit on a Prusa Mini no problem/

Looking really amazing, makes me consider reclipping everything to the tab clips so I can easily switch rooms without needing overlay versions.

Very very cool! I wish my printer was big enough to print these.. *cries*
