Chapter 1 status update and release plan!
🕑 Added 2015-04-03 06:18:59 +0000 UTC Hello everyone!So, I've had lots of time to work on Aylia's Story last week, and boy was it fun :-). I got everything organized and instead of fairly vague percentages, I have an up-to-date list of things to accomplish in order to release the chapter 1 that I've hoped for. I think once you play it, you guys will understand why it has taken me awhile to get everything in place, but more on that in a second.
First, if you have not heard, I would highly recommend checking out Eromancer's Malise and the Machine (www.patreon.com/eromancer). I just finished the demo released yesterday, and I love what Eromancer is doing. The game is bursting at the seams with quality, and it's awesome to see the support he is receiving! Check it out!
Now, what you all are most likely waiting for--what you can expect in chapter 1:
- 2 Multi-stage main quests. All main quests will dramatically influence the game's progression.
- 2 Multi-stage rival quests.
- 3 - 4 Side Quests
- 10-12 Quest related CGs (Hell yea!)
- A working battle system with 4 "H" related enemies, including approximately 10 "H" attack CGs.
- Loads of mini-events, dialogue and little extras, including a fairly basic, but hopefully fun Bogwort "sneak" game when Aylia is bathing... hehe, you'll just have to wait and see!
Honestly, I really think everyone will be pleased with how the game progresses. This chapter will set the stage for the game going forward. I don't plan on skimping at all along the way, and hopefully, Aylia's Story will be a grand experience when it is all said and done!
Thank you all for the positive feedback, support and patience you've shown me so far. My hope is that once I release this chapter, the game garners enough support for me to try and go full time, as I have some big stuff planned for Chapter 2. Remember, much of my work on future chapters will be mapping, writing, and drawing--which is freakin' awesome. I greatly look forward to it.

I think you will have a solid idea of how the game will shape up after chapter 1, and should have some hints at where things are going. After Chapter 2, I believe people will have a really good idea of where the story is going to take you. I plan on emailing all the $50 supporters and people who I've promised rewards to after chapter 1 is released and start the dialogue. As the game will span 4 more chapter after this one, there will be PLENTY of time to develop your ideas. Plus, there is a good chance people may want to add something to one of the major cities Aylia and Bogwort will visit, like Escala or Trellion. So, just keep thinking about ideas and what character you like best, I look forward to hearing new ideas!

Take your time, the more content and details, the better. Really looking forward to see how the game changed from what you had in the demo. And to get inspired for my reward/commision thingy. I already came up with some ideas but I want to wait until I played the first chapter to see if they fit (no rush of course, if you get around to it in chapter five or even your next game I'm fine with it).

Not really, this is a 5 chapter game, meaning this release is about 15-20% of the final game. Although, the primary choice you make in the second main quest determines whether you take the path that has the possibility to go the "dark side" route. You won't actually see things get "dark" though until around chapter 3.
Is the dark side separate path (2.5k milestone) in chapter 1?

I'll update you guys on the poll's results in next week's update. I plan on ending the poll early next week.
The attention to detail in not just the artwork, but the game world itself is what hooked me in from the first demo. I'll support quality and detail over slop to meet arbitrary deadlines any day. And that much content for one chapter of a game gets a "heck yeah!" And I'll also second the Malise and the Machine plug - it's obviously an alpha release, but it's also obviously really promising and fun!

YT this sounds great, I'm really looking forward to playing through chapter 1 in just a few weeks! I'm certain that once chapter 1 is released into the wild you'll be able to pick up enough additional patrons to do this full time :D
