Hunter's Quest Update

I needed to step away from message boards, forums, Patreon, and all that to just work on the game. I got the bugs fixed Friday night and was preparing it for release when I stopped and thought, "After all the fucking work I've put on this, am I really go to just push it out with a somewhat rushed last 1/4 of the game?" (at least by my standards). So, I backed away from message boards and people, and worked about 10 hours yesterday, and am about to start working right now. I went through and added NPC reactions to the eclipse, fixed consistency errors and added little intros to the gallery room scenes to fit with the old man's perspective. I've reworked the entire Benja sword quest to make more sense and to actually give player's a bit of a hint as to where they need to go (it was a luckfest before), and added a whole set of dialogue for the brothel customers so that the scenes are more enjoyable. I find brothels to be kind of lame in game, and usually not very exciting. I don't think these are much better, but at least now there is a bit of anticipation.
I'm editing and improving the h-scenes I worked on towards the end of June right now. I'm sure people will think, "What the fuck, just release the fucking thing!" and I can see that. But, I knew I had a good amount of time to work this weekend, and I wanted to take that extra one or two days to bring the entire game up to my high standards. I hope this translation shows people the kind of writing and scene building they can expect in Aylia's Story, as I've really put a lot of effort into this. I'm pretty sure people would be downright shocked if they took the time to compare the original to the translated version. I don't think I'll call it a "translation" anymore, but when I release it later, I'm going to go with "adaptation." It really is something that I've kind of built upon the original author's work, kept the spirit of his writing and game, but added quite a bit. So, "translation" might be misleading, and might cause some of the hardcore h-game fans to grab their pitchforks...
Anyways, I hope you guys are NOT too mad at me (Oops...). It did mean I missed another release date (par the fucking course at this point), but the end product is much better. I'll finish up what I'm doing today, and depending on when I finish, I had an idea to add in a very quick graphical addition of her tits getting grabbed (should only take an hour), but if I don't finish the editing until late, that addition will be scrapped. I want this done this weekend. Once I release it, I'm moving away from Hunter's Quest for a few weeks, so v2.0.0 will not be done for a few weeks. I need to focus on Aylia's Story for awhile.

As long as you don't pull a Mighty No.9 on us I don't mind waiting a bit longer for the release of both projects. Heck I'm still waiting for Hat in Time to come out(backed it and never touched my beta demo >_>''). Take your time, release what you are proud of and relax. BUT if you fail to follow those easy steps I'll just have to go all Terminator on you past self.

Anyways, as I was saying, to be honest I did not become a Patron for Hunter's Quest. I have never played, and never heard about it until I become your patron. Admittedly, I am pretty new to the h-game scene, so I am not shocked, I have never heard of it. What made me become your patron is Aylia's story. So, frankly I am happy to hear that you are working on that. Not discounting your work on HQ, you obviously have passion for it

Chapter 1 is not a pledged update. So, if you're here, then you're on board. The next pledge is set for chapter 2. Due out about the same time as Half-Life 2 Episode 3 :-)

I say take your time and get it right. You've already explained (and apologized) about the release schedule so frankly at this point, anyone who wants it out, regardless of how 'rough'it is, just are impatient. Patience is a virtue, and remember that *you* are the artist creating, so you're the final judge of when it's done. Of course that is a fine balance between releasing an update and not, but life's about choices. Short version: You're not billing monthly, who post fewer updates than this, so you're good.
Personally, I like the idea of a better version that you're more proud of more than it getting released quickly. It's looking like announcing stricter deadlines isn't working so well for you, though. Maybe you should try not giving deadlines, and just using the weekly updates/plans to keep yourself accountable? Probably fewer pitchforks that way. :P (Do what works for you, though, just an idea.)
