August Monthly Update
🕑 Added 2018-08-02 22:05:19 +0000 UTC Hello everyone!It's a new month, and I'm thinking this month is going to be a good one. I've had a release in August every year (granted, they've never been what I wanted), and I'd like to keep that little streak going. I won't be giving any dates, but if you peruse over to Trello, I'm down to just 7 cards! Nobody is more excited than me about that.
So, where are we at? Well, I believe the foundation is good-to-go in MV. Meaning, I've gotten the main scripts in place, I've gotten the main art assets in place, I can run around in the MV game and play through the introduction, I've gotten the artwork upscaled, and I'm at a point where I'm adding back in content to a function game that I can test as I add it. The process was not so terrible, but it was a bit more time consuming than I thought back in June. When I had a script transfer over all the events and maps, I thought that would be 75% of it, but that wasn't quite right. MV was a different enough beast that it took some fiddling with scripts and some decisions (especially on tileset size and sprites)--for the record, I'm sticking with VX Ace size of 32x32 instead of the MV default of 48x48. I'll get input from people in the next release, and I can upscale it if people find it too small with the new resolution, but working in 32x32 looks better to me.
At this point, I'm working on the initial portion of chapter 1 that was kind of included in 0.11. There was a lot wrong with it, and I've made a few changes as well. For example, I altered Lida's quest to be more explanatory as to what is expected and to reduce the "fetch" aspect of it a bit. Fetch quests have their place (should be a VERY minimal place), but I want to hold myself to a bit of a higher standard. I've made the lake area much easier to figure out what's going on, and I changed Aylia's reaction to the bandits (it was out of character). It all looks downright wonderful in the higher resolution (I settled on 1152x648).

This is not a guesstimation percentage, but each set of tasks listed on cards. Don't hesitate to ask any questions below, and I'll do my best to answer them. August is going to be fun!

It would be nice to see you still working on this Game, so far it Sounds good and Promising, but you see it´s quiet hard to tell if you still working or if you have abandon all of this when you have given no new Info since Aug 2018.

I would guestimate a release in two to four months if lucky. Not lucky would be six two nine months. I would hope to be lucky but either way I am not complaining. Keep up the great work and happy.... I don't know pick something.

Nope. Events and Quests are done as per today, just one more scene to test (Tian 4) and the Achievements and Monsters to convert to their MV equivalents and then... dare i say we might even see a release of 0.15 this month at the current pace? Check the Trello link, see for yourself ;)

I will say in the time I have "supported" YT, I have never been charged, and it has been for at least a year and a half, if not two years. If there was a scam going on, then it is a strange one, because I have yet to give a dime of money to YT. I monitor my finances pretty heavily, so if money is being taken out, it is a very small amount. But, once again, I have not seen any transactions that I cannot account for in the whole time I have supported him. I just think the guy bit off a lot more than he can chew and is slowly, but surely trying to create something special, with many personal hiccups and pitfalls.

Interesting news. For 2 years you've been developing sprite game with the budget from 2000-7000 dollars a month, and still you haven't done even beta release version (which is above 95% of the project done). being a 3D designer in gaming industry for 2 years (and a computer game developer), I smell something fishy about all of this. Can you send me the link to your updates? (I mean the exe file for the latest game alpha release)

Moving your progress chart to Trello was a good move, its great transparency and allows us to see how you're doing without having to directly pester you about it. I can also tell it's helped you put everything into order. Keep it up!
