Status Update
🕑 Added 2018-12-04 07:37:55 +0000 UTC Greetings! It's been awhile and past time I posted an official non-Trello status update.I'm narrowing in on a release and I believe it will fall after the holidays in January. This release will contain:
- 12 full scenes (ranging from exposure to sex)
- Over 100 pieces of artwork (including minor artwork like items, etc.)
- New maps
- 1152 x 648 resolution
- 5+ hours of gameplay (assuming you don't make love the the message skip key)
- A variety of new, custom music
It will be the first update that I will recommend people play, and thankfully, the story will finally continue. This release should represent the majority of Chapter 1 and will be followed by a battle-oriented release which will fully integrate the battle system in MV. That release will contain a lot of additional battle-related artwork.
You can expect to see changes in the coming weeks as I update my Patreon to prepare for the release. I'll also be less silent as I have a couple new features I can talk about. Things had gotten redundant before given the lack of overall progress. This is not a "reboot," that occurred last May and I've been working well ever since, it's just taken a lot of time--time that is often limited. Once the release is ready and a pledge cycle is run, I'm going to try full time again to move this forward at an acceptable rate (I've been saving my pennies in anticipation). You will have a full update and time to play it before any pledges are ran in order to make an appropriate pledge decision.
On the Patreon front, I'm well aware that things have been silent for a long time. People were silent and I didn't have a lot to say. I took a step back to avoid perpetuating the same mistakes. Going forward, my plan for keeping you all up-to-date is the following:
- Patreon - Official announcements, releases, polls, and teasers
- Trello - Daily/weekly progress (potential minor spoilers)
- Discord - Up to the moment information and live discussions (I'm on most weekdays)
You can control how involved you want to be, and I welcome you to participate in any of those formats. If you have not heard from me and are left wondering, don't hesitate to message. Time may pass on Patreon when there is nothing official to announce, but I will still be working.

I've learned over time that doing h-combat right is building a game in itself. So, it'll be worthy of a separate update with limited story expansion. I've always aimed for the h-combat to be integrate in a way that was non-grindy and didn't require you to force yourself to lose. I think in this regard, Aylia's Story will set itself apart from the standard RPG Maker combat.

I guess another thing that concerns me is you said you wanted to release at 10 scenes, but if it took too long you'd just push it out. Now it's 12 scenes. Looking at it from the big picture it just seems like more endless push backs. And I do consider it postponed for the above mentioned reasons. From my perspective you're giving yourself an entire new year to work on it (and then we'll see the same thing next December). I'm not even trying to be negative or critical when I say this, it's just the logical conclusion I've come to tbh. I've made so many predictions now I can't keep track of them all. The only thing I can say is they've all been too optimistic O.o.

Great news all around YT! Would have liked a bit more activity on your Patreon page earlier, but stick to that New Year's Resolution and there'd be some interesting times ahead as a content creator :) Looking forward to January!

I think I'll wait for the battle oriented release before I start on playing the update because one of the biggest draw is the naughty battles in the game for me.

Yep, words are meaningless at this point. When a release is actually posted, then your words will start to have meaning again. Hate to be so harsh, but none of your actions have provided any trust in the words you say. I am glad to see you didn't abandon this. You just need to release something, then people will start to trust your words again.

Your last prediction, and our bet, would have fallen on December 19th I believe. This is not really being postponed, as I don't think I've given a release date prior? Instead, I've been chugging along and waiting until I was sure. Also, I'm learning in that I'm giving myself an ample window if I do give any estimates. You'll just have to wait and watch, it's not the same, but nothing I can say will mean much at this point. :-)

As someone who's been sitting on the sidelines watching since 2015 from ulmf I can say I'm proud and hopeful you've stuck it through. I've had my ups and downs regarding trust with this project, but I will look forward to January hopeful that you'll pull through. Make us proud bud.

Eh. Postponing till after the new year really has me thinking we're going to see a repeat of yet again more delays. Not feeling good about this being released any time soon, especially not within the next 6 months. Of course I hope you prove me wrong. I think my last prediction was at earliest a February release. I'll be watching :/.
