Notice of Pledged Post

It's been awhile, and I know that people put this on the backburner while I toil away at the game. That's a good option. As such, I try to give notice if I'm going to run a pledge update so that you can act accordingly. There will be a pledged post next week and your pledge will be charged at the beginning of December.
First, there will be a release by the end of Q1 2024 at the latest. This release will include over 10 CGs, multiple new portraits, multiple new mini event graphics, battle artwork for both munchkins and water slimes, and will include over 5 hours of new story content. This release will put Aylia's Story on par with some full games available on DLSite/Steam in terms of content. I'm sorry it has taken so damn long to get this game going forward, but it's a lot of work to do this as a single developer. When this release drops, it will not be a charged post. This pledge will cover that.
Second, the reason I'm running this now is for financial reasons. I've put a significant amount of money into the game this year and given the way Patreon charging works, this is the last opportunity to run a pledge that will count towards 2023. This allows me to apply these development costs against the patreon income so that your more of your money is actually going towards the game's development. When we hit multiple releases next year, this will not be an issue.
Finally, you are always in control of what you contribute towards this game's development. I'm disappointed that we have not had the next release yet, but things have been moving forward since we restarted the development on this game last year. I will not begrudge you if you choose to pause your patronage until December, choose to skip this pledge, or ask for a refund in the coming months for this pledge. I always offer a refund of your last pledge.
Thank you for your patronage. It means the world to me and it truly is the reason why this game is still slowly moving forward. There is a certain naked elf in all of our futures!

Yes. Each pledge you make at the tier earns you a credit. A single scene is a credit, or a quest line can be multiple credits depending on the amount of artwork included. I am keeping track of credits, and I figure after this next release we can start discussing you ideas.

A very fair take, and I would be able to refund any pledges if I didn't fulfill my end of the agreement. The reason I said Q1 2024 was to give myself a 3 month window if I were to make this promise. I have a release date in my head that is well before the end of March, but given the importance of hitting any date I set if I take a pledge, I want to be sure. Thanks for your support!

Honestly, I'm ok with pledging if there is a release. 'A release by Q1 2024 at the latest' is such a wide promise, and after so many failed promises from you over the years I honestly don't believe you'll stick to it this time. I remember you promising the game over 6 years ago (it was just before my son was born!). There have been so many excuses as to why the release never happened, I just expect there to be another one now. I'll pay when there is a release for sure...

I am aware. I am totally fine with anyone who chooses to skip the pledge. It is helpful for development, and I don't run monthly pledges, but I'm well aware of my track record at this point.

This would still be a charge tied to a major release. Patreon allows you to skip a pledge, or you can simply drop your membership and re-start it in December.

The deal is that you only charge per major update, so if there's no update then don't charge. A promise of a later release doesn't count, it's completely worthless coming from you.
