Improved Service Stability
🕑 Added 2024-12-19 10:29:26 +0000 UTCAfter the recent migration to the new engine (2 days ago) we were informed by our users that they were encountering some issues. We fixed all issues that were currently reported, so the RPDB service should once again be stable and working as expected.
Make sure to tell us if you experience any other issues with the service as this was a big change for us.

Hi Rafael, I must have missed your email and I apologise for that, I did already answer Helder in a DM on Patreon yesterday. Regarding your inquiry, although I would love to solution it, I'm afraid that it is simply not possible to do so, RPDB uses ISO 639-1, which has a language code for "portuguese" only, and has no language code for "portuguese (brazil)", this is the least of the problems though, the larger issue here is that the poster sources do not have a "portuguese (brazil)" version either, take TheMovieDB for example, if you go to "Home Alone" (which you used as an example), then check the posters page, you will see that this website puts both portuguese and portuguese (brazil) posters under the same "Portuguese" category with no way to distinguish between them, unless the poster sources are able to give some way of distinguishing between these languages, then RPDB won't be able to either: https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/771-home-alone/images/posters?image_language=pt

I sent an e-mail to the creator via contact page with the same question and also providing some samples for the 2 languages. I never got a reply. I believe they simply don’t care about this matter.

The posters are available in Portuguese, but only for the Portugal version. How can I select the Portuguese posters for the Brazil version? There are many differences in the movie titles between these two versions.

hi, none of the servers seem to be experiencing any overload atm, poster generation takes about 50ms and for paid tiers there is a 4gbps bandwidth dedicated now, so my guess is that currently the new engine is still populating many posters locally to speed up poster delivery in the future, i would expect it to be much faster after initial data population
