I'm still working on the knight.
There has been no noticeable change yet. I carved stones, her body, and is now adjusting the shape of her armor.
After completing the armor, I think I will put armor on the horse and add and adjust the body and horse's muscles with more details.
I'm making armor without any drawing. I am making armor in the shape I think is pretty according to the working situation. First of all, I am working on making detailed helmets. Only then will I know what style her armor is.
A family trip is planned from February 27th to March 1st. I probably talked about it earlier this year, but I'm writing it down again. I didn't know I'd be doing such a big work at that time.😅 I have to finish my work so that it doesn't affect the deadline. Next week, we aim to complete the armor by working as soon as possible.

I should think more about the helmet design. When I think it's cool, I'm designing it spontaneously without thoughts about historical armor. So it can be very different from history-based armor. I'm going to maintain this design now. First of all, there are too many parts to fill.(horse armor, flags, or other accessories) If I think of a cooler design when I have some space afterwards, I will refer to this opinion and revise it.

Correct, Kettle helmets (they are more like hats) had leather straps (chin straps) which covered the ears or the wearer wore an additional mailhood underneath, same for the morion. Or they had a wider brim to cover the top part of the ears. Helmets with a visor always covered the ears as far as I know. During battle the head is flushed with blood, and even a small cut on your ear would bleed like hell, and every wound - even a small one - can lead to infections and death. For medieval central europe I don't know any reference for a ceremonial armor.

There are some Roman helmets with that feature. Also some helmets end above the ear (kettle helmet, some versions of Norman helmet. Morion) but they usually were combined with additional elements protecting ear (chainmail, metal plates connected to straps holding the helmet on the head) and often provided cover from the top (morion's and kettle helmet's wide brim). Still all that being said lack or ear protection makes sense mostly for ceremonial armour or possibly for leaders leading from the back or possibly some kinds of scouts.

Nice WIP. A very unusual style for a helmet. I never saw a historical helmet which don't cover the ears. Looking forward to the next update.
