Should I do more text stories?

I miss writing simple text stories, it's one of my few pleasures, but I find myself nervous because it wouldn't be the usual pop culture stuff people love and it wouldn't have images to accompany it, which was a mainstay of my old written stuff. Most of the few times I did do only writing didn't seem to take off with people.
So any opinions are appreciated. Leave a comment.

You make a good point, but the writing I kind of want do in my off hours, not my work hours. I just am not sure about posting it.

I think some background can enhance a picture quite well.
