Started with rust tones
🕑 Added 2019-10-22 21:32:37 +0000 UTCToday I managed to finish the dark steel chipping and started with some subtle rust tones. The trick with winter camouflages and rust effects is that these two shouldn't overlap in a very obvious manner, because the effect will look too drastic.
I also painted fake lids on the fender boxes... remember how I decided not to scribe in their panel lines in the construction video? That's because I had this in mind the whole time :)

I'm surprisingly happy with the result too :) Some of the lines aren't perfect, but this can be blamed on sheet metal deforming under pressure etc (excuses I know lol).

Well yes, that would be the ideal situation :D But unfortunately they were glued to the model and as such I wouldn't have enough room to comfortably scribe in the panel lines. This would be especially hard if I had to correct some mistakes. So in this case it was easier to paint fake lines... this kind of stuff can be pulled off in smaller scales, in 1/35 it would've been way too obvious.

probably a dumb question (you will often get this kind from me π) it shouldn't had help during painting if you decided to scribe them?
