🕑 Added 2019-12-05 01:10:23 +0000 UTCI just like painting camouflages with a brush :) And this kind of hard edged camo is so typical for late war Germany.
The "ugly" bits are one layer of paint. The "proper" ones at the front are 2 layers. So far I'm pretty happy with how it looks, although I could've mixed the green a little bit brighter. But just like I tend to say that weathering will make everything darker, it is possible to make it lighter as well. I'll try to do that on this one to make it more balanced.
Tomorrow I'll just have to fill up the remaining green patches and paint the opposite side.
All paints on this one are from Ammo. I was really pissed while airbrushing the dark yellow base. Even though I followed Miguel's tutorial on "proper" way of airbrushing these paints I still got a nasty orange peel, but I was able to smoothen it out by blasting the surface with lacquer thinner.

I used similar pressure around 25 psi. Maybe I was spraying the final layers from too far away. We all learn something new every day! :)

I've used a few of the AMMO acrylics and had no issues. Mostly straight from the bottle or with a couple drops of the acrylic thinner. I'm using a Badger Sotar 20/20 with the fine needle and about 22-24 psi.
Night Shift
I used the AK Modulation set of Olive drab once and the result was surprisingly smooth. I think I thinned it with Vallejo Airbrush Cleaner, which somehow works as a flow improver. It was a few years ago tho. I find painting this type of camo by brush relaxing. It also brings me back many years to those simpler times when I didn't have an airbrush. And weathering this type of surface is strangely satisfying.

Yeah I keep trying these and the old ak acrylics and then regret I didn’t load the airbrush with gunze or Tamiya, I admire your will to paint almost all of your model by brush
