More 3D printing misadventures

Did 4 sets of test prints at different settings, ranging from 0.01 to 0.025 layer thicknesses, also tried 2x anti-aliasing. I honestly can't see any difference in quality between the different layer settings, and as someone pointed out on reddit, there's no point making the Z height lower than the XY resolution (1 pixel on the Photon is 0.043mm if I remember correctly). Kinda makes sense if you ask me... The anti-aliasing improved the overall smoothness a little bit, but nothing crucial, but I think I'll keep using it.
There's almost always one random line going along the entire print, it looks like a scratch. I don't know what causes this, and when browsing other prints on the internet, almost all of them have at least few, depending on the model size. So maybe it's normal, I don't know... however it's a) easy to fix, or b) easy to hide with paint and weathering techniques.
Also printing at a 45 degree angle creates visible printing lines, again this could be mostly fixed with a few light layers of primer, but I had to run supports from a few delicate details, which makes clean-up pretty much impossible. It however fixed the sagging bottom issue, but on the other hand, the whole box got slanted sideways 😄
I tried hollowing the box out from the bottom, and it pretty much eliminated the sagging issue! The disadvantage is, the box can't be displayed laying sideways.
Well... we still haven't reached perfection, but I can already see some progress!
Also, the flimsy can is ready for printing. I'm really curious how's the warning label gonna look 😁

I'll give it a shot, but again there will be print lines and the protruding details will printed as islands, so more supports coming from them. What resin are you using Scott? The color looks really good. Would you mind sharing a few settings with me?

It isn't. I think it's just a setting for the slicer, but I'm not sure. In theory, the warning label should be barely visible once printed, just like on the real thing... IF the letters aren't thinner than the pixel size... we'll see tomorrow!

Good, it's anti-aliasing adding more to the print time? lol, I was thinking exactly the same when I first saw the flimsy can 3D model! hope it looks good!!
