there was some unexpected work today at my garage (after a long time lol) so I got a little distracted, but I managed to put on the tracks and some other bits. Also, I'm pretty much ready for bed, so please, accept my apology, I'll respond to messages tomorrow morning! Just wanted to drop a quick update before I hit the hay.
Well, the tracks were pretty bad, hot water didn't bend them at all so I had to use a hairdryer (and actually managed to capture it pretty well on video!) and superglue. I goofed up a little on one side, but it'll be hidden behind the skirts. Also, one track is too long for one side, and too short for the other one. Those guys at Revell are psychopaths! 😆As you can see on one of the photos, I wasn't impressed!
The tank didn't sit flush with the ground after the tracks were fitted, another expected unpleasantry, but luckily I managed to straighten it up almost perfectly by rubbing the tank against sandpaper on a straight metal block. It's not perfect, but better than it was... and I suppose not every model can be 100% perfect!
I also wanted to finally have some actual fun, so I quickly glued the main hull parts together and played a bit with one of the side skirts. Thinned it down with a rotary tool to make it paper thin, then mangled it with a pair of tweezers, and stippled with heavily diluted putty to smoothen it out and also give it a matt rubbery texture. The front fenders were also cut off. At first I wanted to build a specific vehicle from Syria, but some circumstances, mainly the badly fitting tracks, changed my decision and it'll be just some random hypothetical beaten up Syrian T-90 inspired by two different tanks.
I guess this means I can add some stowage! And yeah, with the dreadful tracks out of the way, I think this might become a pretty fun little project!

Oh my, sorry for the late reply!!! No definitely not, this is a rare case because of the side skirts and also because of their stupid design (2 lengths that need to be bent). Link and length, and also single link tracks can be in fact assembled without gluing them to the wheels, keeping them removable for painting - and it can be done even on a tank like this, you just omit the upper run. I'll make a video on how to assemble this type of track on thee next model!

Hey Martin, love the build! Quick question: do you always put tracks 'link and length' tracks on first? Or can you add those at a later stage? Just asking as I'm building a Takom 1:35 M3 Grant now with 'link and length' tracks and wondering how best to go at it. Cheers :)
