First of all, I'm sorry for being offline yesterday. Had a pretty busy day, slept only about 4 hours, then went to buy another bike and then of course went for a ride, resulting in me dropping dead in my bed very early.
So of course I wanted to compensate that lazy Sunday and spent the entire day at the workbench today... and as a result, I think the T-90 is finished. ๐
I find it pretty hard to work non-stop during these final stages because I feel like there's a much bigger chance of doing something wrong. But I armed myself with enough reference pictures to get a clear idea about the look I was after and I think it turned out pretty well. There's an interesting things about desert weathering, and it's when moisture gets trapped in the desert dust, it often turns into orange-brown, almost rust-like color. It's a very interesting effects and I wanted to try it for a long time. Mixing an earth-colored enamel paint with light rust wash did the trick!
There were some obligatory grease stains, which were again done with a dark brown wash, and the last thing I initially wanted to do, but ultimately decided against it, was polishing the tracks with a pencil. After looking at enough references it was clear that in most cases, tracks on Syrian tanks are completely rusty.
And with that, I don't feel like there's anything more to add in terms of weathering and effects.
I've been also looking at photos trying to come up with a simple yet interesting scenic base for the model, and it boiled down to 2 options - a simple urban scenery with a piece of street and some rubble strewn around, or a more "countryside" setting with a lot of loose ground and gravel. The second option seems more interesting to me, and I also have materials to recreate that. What are your thoughts?

Yeah, the thing is I don't have too much stuff for that, I don't even have basic stuff like plaster and I'd like to keep my visits to stores at a minimum. Natural terrain seems easier for now - just acrylic mud + real earth and some rocks + static grass and it's done ๐

hope you enjoyed the ride on the new bike!! ๐ฒ definitely an improvement with that orange-brown color, I really like it! and that is actually the color of the terrain on most of the reference pictures you shared. ๐๐ป and for the base, I think it would be nice an urban scenery, it may give the opportunity for some interesting details? (I know you want to keep it simple, just saying!)

To have so much going on in such a small space while keeping each element so clearly defined is really impressive; makes the model appear so much larger than it is. But stop cutting the gun barrel out of pictures ๐, the heat effect is a really nice feature!
