so I pretty much finished the base. All that's left is to fix the tank to the road and make it "sit" with textured earth, just like with the T-90.
What I did since the last post was to brush some Aqualine on the ground, then speckle some dry earth from Ammo - all the same colors like I used on the tank.
Then I went over the grass again, this time with pure Yellow Green and then a few spots of that XF-89 to tone the brightness down a bit.
Next was the damp earth, again using the same Loose Ground like on the tank, I first applied it as a very heavy dot wash, then a lot of speckling including the banks where mud would splash on the grass, and finally stippling with an almost dry brush over and around the ruts.
To finish off the fence I applied some diluted wash for german yellow and painted small rusty dots to imitate rusting nails. Finally I brushed the sides of the base with flat black Vallejo paint.
Well, it could've been better, especially more original, but at the same time it could've been much worse... besides, I ordered the foam cutting board and the static grass applicator. So the next base should be much better, at least when it'll come to straight smooth sides and straight grass strands!
I'll give you one more update tomorrow with the tank fixed in place and then I'll proceed to editing the video 😊

Night Shift
Wood is fancy and noble, but I never enjoyed cutting the sides into perfect angles. I also like plain black sides, but again styrene would be pain to cut. So I naturally kinda like the slightly textured look of painted styrofoam, looks okay and is very quick and easy!

Looks great night shift super realistic. I always thought using wood as a base but may be foam would be easier to work with. Any way I like the addition of a diorama into your builds
