Hull (almost) done!

sorry for no update yesterday, I wasn't very productive and all I did were the headlight covers (which I made using another plastic jig which was made using the original kit part 😆 - it'll be all shown in the video).
So today I decided to do a lot more and pretty much finished the hull, except the external fuel tank mount at the back. After that it's just turret!
This time I decided to add tow cables, because I think we haven't done these details on the channel yet. They also look kinda cool, each consisting of two lengths? Turns out the 1/35 Tiger track mounting cables from Voyager have the perfect thickness for 1/48 kits. The only disadvantage is they're made from steel, not copper, so they're quite rigid. A bit of superglue can however hold them in place and I suppose their rigidness gives them a kinda natural shape. I wanted to attach both cables to one side which would look pretty dope, but they just wouldn't fit into the towing eyelet.... I hope it doesn't look too bad the way it is now?

That's an unwanted effect lol, but they're too small for me to correct that. It's just caused by flattening them with a pair of pliers.

Haha, I'm still not getting why they were so focused on riveting and bolting tanks together... makes me wonder if there were any manufacturer specified torque settings for each bolt as we see today lol... Weird flex but I didn't lose any of those rivets 😁 They're super easy to make. When you drop a tiny piece the best action is to turn on a flashlight on your phone, carefully stand up and drop on your knees. The last thing you want is to run over the damn thing with your chair 😱

Somewhere, the ghost of a British engineer is shedding a happy tear that their complete over-engineering of handles has finally been recognised! Also, those tiny rivets are next level; how many did you lose while doing it?! (You like horror stories; make a video about dropping half a PE hinge onto the floor, at night. I know that would scare me!)
