Finally Fully Finished
🕑 Added 2020-08-19 14:43:47 +0000 UTCWell, my friends, it took me a few hours longer to finish it so I didn't post any progress last night - basically all that was left after yesterday was to add the antennas and a few glossy stains here and there - nothing significant so I didn't want to post two almost identical updates.
I spent a good amount of time thinking what else to add, but in the end I felt like there's simply nothing that could make it more interesting.
So the finishing touches were as usual - smoke around the exhaust and gun barrel, polishing all metal surfaces and worn edges, adding several local washes and stains using the DAK wash, grime and grease effects done with dark wash and some wet effect fluid, and that's about it.
Now I'm going to process all the large photos (26 in total) which I'll post later today, then make the video and then we're gonna start with the vignette!

True! That's a very good trick. I've been instead using stretched sprues and wires all the time. Nice thing about sprue is you can stretch it as thin as you want - the selection of different diameters is thus also pretty much endless. And you can also stretch it as long as you want - I once had to make about 10cm antenna for the IDF Nagmachon - super easy with sprue.

One would think! But there are tons of photos from Syria and Libya showing that tracks for some reason remain rusty in the desert. I polished the edges of track cleats, keeping it very subtle, and I'm still keeping some open room to polish them further if I feel like it needs some more. Plenty of time before it's finally glued to the base, but yeah, I intended to have it like this.

That came out wonderful. I'm looking forward to seeing what your base looks like. Next video should be a cracker too. I might suggest using a bristle from a house painting brush as a material for small scale antenna. They are nice and inexpensive, very thin, flexible and come in a wide range of colours. I've used the same brush for years.

Nice work! I am a little surprised that you chose not to polish the track contacts at all. I feel like the sand would have been like coarse-grit sandpaper on those babies.
