Post weekend update

remember how I said "we'll see what Friday brings us" last time? Well, nothing much to be honest, a bunch of stuff came up and I didn't have too much time unfortunately. I've been catching up over the weekend though...
So all the small parts are out of the way, and all of them are "welded" in place. Some details had ridiculous flash which I remember from old Russian kits like Eastern Express etc. Just cleaning up and assembling the large rear door took over 2 hours... ridiculous!!!
Needless to say the model is now ready for photoetched parts. I'll add the shell impacts first and then I'll start assembling the small PE.
Also, I'll be working more methodically and efficiently so the build can be concluded soon. This tank is not complicated, but some steps get time consuming if you're not efficient.
I'll get back to work right now and I'll try to shoot you another update later tonight 😁

Horizontal plates are always much thinner, and because of that they maybe don't require such "brutal" rolling process? I don't really understand the manufacturing process, but in most cases you can see thinner plates being very smooth compared to the thick sides. And it adds more contrast and interest as well 😁

Why no texture on the horizontal steel plates ? They would be machined /tooled from the same kind of rolled steel plates / production process just like the rest.

You've really made the small details pop! Nice idea with the roadwheels! And no rubber portion to paint. 👍Yes, I agree about the long period in dealing with small details, that need fixing. But in the end it does pay off. 😄
