🕑 Added 2021-01-06 10:38:01 +0000 UTCI'm marking this into my calendar (no I'm not lol): first attempt at pre-weathering, or in other words, not starting the painting process with a clean model that gets progressively more and more dirty and weathered with subsequent techniques, but rather creating the whole concept from the beginning.
I feel like what we have here kinda works for this subject, as the BMR-3 is supposed to be in a relatively good condition while the mine rollers are older. This is nothing unseen since they're just an attachment which gets swapped around and doesn't require too much maintenance as it's just a bunch of wheels suspended on chains.
We'll see how this approach evolves during this year!

No, pigments are always fragile, especially when you pile them in larger amounts. Fixer can hold them pretty well if it's just a thin layer of dust, but large piles will be always fragile and are better left untouched. That's one of the reasons why I stopped using pigments.

Does the pigment fixer keep the dust effects from falling off with some minimal handling? Is there something that will seal it further? It looks like it would flake off very easily over time.
