This is my first time hearing about Just Stab Me Now and it sounds delightful, I'm going to go try and find it now! But also yes in answer to your question, I did have a nightmare about 6 months after my book's edits were done that my editor had come back to me with yet another round of extensive edits and I was just sighing in resigned desperation when I woke up (this is a collab account so this comment is from Gretchen btw)

Yes, the nightmares are very real. I was happy to have sold 25 copies, but I also hate turning myself into a 'public figure', so that obviously will affect my sales. LOL. That 'public figure' thing is part of the nightmares. Also, regarding grammar for other countries. I translated Flame Touched into Spanish (and hired a native speaker for editing because I know AI translations do not factor in the gendering of the language). Seeing the commas or other punctuation OUTSIDE the quotation marks scrambled my brain so hard.

My nightmares are not so much about the writing as trying to argue with youtube that that no this book is not violating the content guidelines and let publish! No problems since except for when I tried to it and its sequels into a series!

The one time my work sent me to a professional conference in my field, I went to the hotel bar and insinuated myself into a conversation circle of published authors in our field. They not only had nightmares, they had plenty of daylight horror stories to share. All of them declared that it was the worst work they'd every done -- and we all work in IT jobs like Caroline's at the beginning of the book. Please feel free to write Just Space Me Now, anyway, if you think it's worth your while. Know that you are not alone.

OK, I'm mystified! I am not seeing any way for me to order a copy directly from IngramSpark - it appears only the author and retailers can order from them directly. While I see B&N has the book available for ~$35 US, I'm happy to cut out the middle man if that's an option, to (hopefully) get Jill more money per book!

I think she made (multiple) videos about that - everything from a mic so sensitive it picked up every wind noise and bird call, to the mic dying part way through and its replacement not having the same/matching sound profile.

Jill, I'm pleased as punch about the good numbers. I now own all 4 formats. The hardback arrived a couple of weeks ago and it is LOVELY! The type is large enough that I can actually read it with my poor eyesight. It's so nice to be able to hold the book in my hands and read it!

Book Nightmares: Does it count when the characters of your book invade your dreams and dictate scene changes while flashing knives and hiding in the darkness? Then yes. :) Also, had one nice dream about a story in progress that ended with the full orchestral music of the movie's closing credits. Shame I could only remember part of the song :D
