🕑 Added 2021-01-22 12:22:30 +0000 UTCMy friends, UVZ (not the Ural Vagon Zavod in Russia, but Uncle's Vagon Zavod in Slovakia 😆) never sleeps. The BMR-3M is officially done and off my desk and this is the best timing ever, the Friul tracks for the Panzer II arrived just an hour ago! (PSA: seems like Friul is going full direct-to-consumer, which means we might have to order tracks directly from their website and stores won't have them in stock anymore... bummer, but for me personally, the shipping cost from eBay was always around 10€ and Friul has a fixed shipping 11€... I don't know, the whole thing leaves me feeling a bit uncertain tbh).
But the timing is epic, because I hate starting projects without having all ingredients. I was almost considering a quick 3D printed tank as a quick painting exercise, but I'll have to keep that for another time 😁
So the plan is to remove the plastic tracks, strip the paint down with VMS Clean Slate, add a few small missing welds and play around with some extra stowage. And of course assemble the metal tracks, duh! I think the model should be ready for a fresh coat of paint by the end of the weekend, there's not that much work to do assembly-wise.
Let's hope the model doesn't melt and the tracks will fit. I don't feel like recording another "disaster struck!" line for a video 😅

@deanF: you have to shorten the pins about 2mm each to get them to sit flush. I use 0.58mm seamstress pins, chopped to size with wire cutters as used for jewellery and then sand off any excess with a metal file. I keep the pin head to the outside for each side. So I only have one track pin head and it’s virtually invisible anyway on the inside so I don’t sweat it for the exposed track areas that get weathered anyway.
