🕑 Added 2020-10-10 15:00:03 +0000 UTCWhile Adam at Desert Island Designs gets working on the 3d sculpts for the Zero Dark miniatures, I thought I'd share the very draft designs for the KS page and get your preliminary feedback.
So basically ignore most of the formatting, especially on Ngana. It involved a new thing on Adobe InDesign I'd not used before. Did a bit more playing with it since I made this and found out more stuff.
But the general thrust of the text and the layout is more or less as planned. I'll look to replace my haphazard sketches with flats of the 3d sculpts (if not photos of the painted resin masters) before the campaign goes live. I'll use the sketches as background to the video, illustrating the development process only.
Backer levels are penciled in at:
£1 - Updates and pledge manager.
£9 - One mini.
£32 - Any four minis of those achieved (limited to 50)
£35 - Any four minis of those achieved (unlimited)
£50 - As above, plus Horizon Wars: Zero Dark OR Operation Nemesis (signed)
£65 - As above plus Horizon Wars: Zero Dark AND Operation Nemesis (signed)
£500 - As above plus one of two original concept sketch pages (limited to 2)
Feel free to comment on everything else.
Now, stretch goals:
You'll have read something about some of these characters in the beta version of Op Nemesis, but I've done a lot of work on finetuning and fleshing out that narrative since that got published here.
The funding goal has gone up a little since this draft, to £7000, so the first two stretch goals have gone to £7500 and £8000.
Right now, we're still at least three months away from launch (tentatively scheduled for 1st February, although it could be sooner) and I'll share a preview page with you guys in a few weeks' time once the 3d sculpts are nearer to finished.

So if I got those four units as one force, what would you suggest as a counter force so I’ve got minis for both sides?

Terrific feedback, Jonathan! Just the kind of thing I had hoped for. I'll make sure all of that is in the text for the campaign but, for your satisfaction: 30mm and metal, and I'm contemplating adding a backer lever for just STLs. KS is to hopefully cover some of the development costs, plus to hopefully raise enough to cover some additional options and extra minis beyond the basic four. Having done a little market research on this kind of quality of metal mini, I'm comfortable with a retail price of £10/mini.

Here's some feedback (I'm trying to be constructive, rather than negative). There's no mention of the scale or if the mini's are metal or resin. You mention that casting will start before the campaign completes, so why is this a Kickstarter and not simply a pre-order? It would be good to see an explanation of why you need the funds. Looking at the prices, are the quoted prices going to be less than the RRP after the Kickstarter? The mini's are 8-9 pound (depending on pledge level) retailing at 10 pound a model after the campaign feels a little high to me.
