Enamel washes, terrain "chipping"...
🕑 Added 2021-09-02 21:23:53 +0000 UTCMy friends, I just made up that term "terrain chipping" on the fly, because that's exactly what painting individual stones and straws feels like 😁
But I've gone over the whole base with enamel earth tones, the same ones like on the tank, painted the small stuff and glued all of the features in place. I mentioned gluing the tree on Thursday, well... that was actually the thing I started with yesterday! I glued it in place, sculpted the root system, painted it, added some fallen branches and debris... it gave me some grief, because just as I expected, slapping diluted glue over a painted surface is no fun!
I've got some more work left to do tomorrow, mainly some laser-cut paper plants. I already added two ferns next to the mile marker just to get familiar with the material, but of course I don't want to go overboard because that can quickly get out of hand and make the vegetation look artificial.
I still feel like the terrain is missing something, but I can't pinpoint what it is. Everything is done in the same fashion like on my previous bases, so I'm not sure what isn't right. Maybe it's the same setting again, a tank on a dirt road. I should probably try something different on the next one... a tank crossing a dirt road! 😁

Bloody brilliant...the two Frech guys look like they are trying to work out what hell the smell is...Ha! Thats the next thing, fill in the caption. I have just completed a cargo hood/cover thing for my Famo halftrack....applied Martins mentality and allthough not quite right its "good enough" so its never just the chipping and washes its the mind set that I pick up on...Plus its good to know we arent the only lunitics. So keep an old boy happy and keep going. Stay away from bikes.,.pah!
