To those who haven't heard - Milovana has been offline since Monday. This isn't the first time it's happened, it probably won't be the last, there is a tiny possibility it won't come back. Read here for more details! TLDR: I'm optimistic.
So while I can't actively create for Trials of the Succubi and Keystroke, I made sure to make sure you can still experience them in their full glory without Milovana!
As a reminder, I am not technically savvy. All of the offline tools were made by a super generous coder. They wanted to ensure that creations could be archived safely in the unfortunate possibility that Milovana doesn't come back.

Fall of Haven
Guess what game is completely immune to the issues of Milovana? Yep!
The vast majority of my week was spent implementing new sound effects and providing feedback on how nearly all of them can be improved (I have around 100 already).
One sound in particular created a crazy bug that took me forever to fix. (No one wants to hear the player land 60 times a second until things crash)
My extended family is visiting now and for the next 5 days or so, so that also will slow me down in the short term.

🔊 Another 80 sounds added! These are also all first draft sound effects like the first batch.
⚔️ 2 Female animations added for holding the sword when it's ready! Was another way I wanted to make it a lot more obvious when it's time to start whacking things.
Re-wrote code for sword cooldown to allow for animation changes and more balanced interactions.
Haven act 1 multiple characters fixed.
Ice cube now spawns while dashing instead of on a timer. Spawn animation speed up again. This hopefully should make it much easier to use on demand and more likely to be facing enemy upon push.
Ice cube damage reduced. (I had previously increased it so much because it was so hard to hit)
Kinetic bombs hurt enemies again.
Fixed spire beam starting from the spire after I shortened it a few weeks ago.
Stop icon should no longer go super sonic orbiting around player.
Gag collision map redone for better removal.
Endless pit collision added to Depths act 1 area.

That's a big first Funday Friday post! I've heard of a few mulling over such ideas but I don't expect anything like that in the next few years. The current admin seems pretty adamant about not making money off of it. I think sites like F95zone are more the future but only time will tell. Your future has another 🧩!

As much as I like Milovana, some part of me hopes for them to monetise their platform / get outpaced by a similar platform that’s able to generate revenue and sustain itself and its future. Would imagine there’d need to be an easy way to port webteases over, but would be good for everyone

I'm glad for more offline versions. I hope we get a way to access a tease player by a community run site soon. Seraphox has been running the site alone for 16 years and it seems he for some reason or another doesn't have the time to maintain and update it with any regularity. And he is also unwilling to let anyone else access the backend, so I hope people will eventually break off the site since he is so unwilling to let anyone else take care of it.

Thanks for working so hard to make TOTS so great. I'm really enjoying KS and I've just downloaded FOH. I'm excited to start speedrunning KS one day. I imagine it'll be much harder with all the RNG.

Yeah, when it doesn't bring in any income and the admin pays the server fees on their own as a service, I didn't expect much further. I just wish they had a second in command for times like these that could fix things (or at least poke them). 🧩

I'm still blown away that Milovana was around and basically unchanged 10+ years after I'd last visited; fingers crossed that it keeps chugging after this, and thanks for looking into it in the meantime!

This is just like how the Homestucks had to make the unnoficial collection with a built-in browser because Viz did such a bad job maintaining that site. Keeping a website is hard. It's hard and noone understands.

Welll... One time I may have accidentally hastened a Milovana crash with F95zone traffic but it's never been on purpose. I don't think I've ever had someone make a first Funday Friday post in response to someone else but it counts 🧩!
