We have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support and good wishes we received from contemporary listeners in early 2021. Their messages and contributions were a real comfort.
Our co-founder John Roderick released a statement apologizing for his recent Twitter controversy, which you can read here. The statement ends by noting that he will be taking a "hiatus" from his recording endeavors, including Omnibus. As you already know in your time, that hiatus was only a brief interreg-a-num and the Omnibus hosts were soon back at work adding entries to their time capsule.
As a result of this break, on January 5, Omnibus skipped a release for the first time in its three-year history. If you're a monthly Patreon supporter and you'd like to receive a credit for January, which will probably be an unusually Omnibus-light month, please message us and we will arrange that.

The kangaroo twit court shall not prevail. Idiots. Idiots. When I saw FF was gone I did something I've never done before, I signed up with Patreon and I'm supporting Omnibus. You two are the best! You never fail to crack me up.
I doubled down like all these fine Futurlings. January just wasn’t the same and it made me appreciate even more than I already did what Omnibus means to me and my little routine. That Twitter shit was bullshit. And mean too. Only generous people here. So glad you’re still going strong and I’m enjoying the show more than ever!!!

Wow, It's a hard time to be a humorist. Hang in there John. We will continue to support Omnibus and look forward to the new podcasts. I still have many old ones to catch up on.

Not being on social media or listening to any mainstream news I was out of the loop til this week about the “controversy” i kept wondering why my Friendly Fire was not being updated and chalked it up to my iPhone 6 being on its last legs. A quick google of friendly fire made it clear what I find to be a completely ridiculous assertion of Johns character. Having been a voracious listener of his podcasts for years I was appalled at the way he was vilified. So here I am with my maximum fun money transferred to omnibus Patreon. May the Force be with you John. Always.
It was a decision by the hosts and not MaxFun. (With a couple of exceptions, MaxFun doesn't own the podcasts so they can't terminate a show.)
Omnibus and Friendly Fire have been, no joke, vital to me keeping my shit together through COVID, Portland's assault from the Feds, Oregon wildfires, the election, and the end of a lucrative freelance gig. Happy to support you now; I will miss FF desperately.
I've done the same thing today. Not sure the reasons why it shook out that way there, but happy to support John (and Ken) here.
I'm taking my money from maximum fun and giving it to you here. What was done was wrong, and I won't support them anymore.
I am happy to be a supporter. Twitter is an awful place, and so are the people who started all the nonsense.
