Hi, Allies! Have you ever seen a game with a high OpenCritic score and thought, "how in the world did that get that kind of praise?" Recently, I played through Final Fantasy XVI, and I do not know how this game has an 87! I found the combat boring, the story telling more than showing, the lack of customization of party members disappointing, and most importantly the side quests mostly just plain sucked! While I appreciate the wonderful voice acting and music, and the attempt at a mature story refreshing, this game was just such a slog for me that if I were reviewing it, I'd have trouble giving it anything higher than a 7/10. What game screams to you "how did that get a high OpenCritic score?" L&R! Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi Allies! No game from me this time because I have a problem: I like city management games too much. Last week, at around 11pm one night, I installed this early access city builder Whiskerwood on a whim, looking to give it an hour to see how it was. At the end of my hour-long play session, I was satisfied and had some good fun...only to realize it had actually been closer to five hours! I know this happens to me with city builders and management-type games. When Frostpunk launched on console a few years ago, I accidentally played through an entire night until the sun was rising. I'm usually responsible about my gaming time with all the other responsibilities I have, but something about this specific genre hits some specific parts of my brain that make everything else disappear. Now, have any of you ever had a game or genre engross you TOO much? How do you properly balance gaming with your other responsibilities?
