the fact 4 out of 10 of these are K pop makes me strangely proud. Honestly I still get comments like "Kpop, I would have never thought you liked that." or "what is Kpop?" "But you listen to music in Korean??" But it has come so far and grown so much in just the 9 years I've been following it's astounding! BTS is a big part of that and I am so proud of them, but they are just a piece in a larger story. There are so many artists who came before to make their story possible, Like BOA, TVXQ, Big Bang... And so many who now get to come ever and continue to push the bounds of how successful a Kpop artist can be like Stray Kids and Ateez. And there's still even newer groups that I can't keep up with who now get to continue to redefine what it means to be a Kpop artist. I know this isn't an official ranking or anything, but even those are often subjective. There being enough rankings and just online presence for this to be the results of a top 10 list says a lot. Even BTS first nomination and appearance at an American award show was because of their being one of the most mentioned artists on Twitter and they got the award for Top Social Artist after ARMY voted for them. Then they took full advantage of that larger platform and made themselves legends. Other artists now get to continue to do the same with the platform BTS provided and it just makes me really excited. Maybe in another 10 years it will only be natural for someone's favorite band to sing in Korean. And/Or it makes me excited to see another list like that in 10 years time. Maybe BTS will join the ranks of Metallica as a legendary band from another era that still stands as a classic and the list will be taken over by other unexpected genre. Like you said, maybe SB19 and Ppop! It might be just from my personal experience and my love of reaction videos, but it feels like folks are becoming much more open to enjoying music and content globally. And that in itself just leaves me feeling uplifted and hopeful
