I disagree, I think Hans as the ultimate believer and Jeremy having doubts was totally true to their characters. Hans always goes to extremes, so when he's not addicted to drugs he gets obsessed with other things (this cult, running, smoothies, olives)

Superhans would never have swallowed all that orgones nonsense, he would have called Jez a kool aid drinker then rolled another spliff. A final showdown between Mark and that creepy recruiter guy would have been funnier, "Oh, it's the Reverend Jones."
