Did you have a quinceanera? I forgot 15 is also a landmark birthday to some cultures. Have done a lot of cognitive behavioural therapy, the techniques make you constantly aware of irrational thinking and cognitive distortions, one of which is "Compare and Despair" - ie comparing the best things you know/see about other people's lives, to the worst of yours. It seemed to me like school and childhood is a minefield for such thoughts, I wish I'd been taught the thinking errors early before they could take root.

Some behind the scenes they've talked about on the podcast (that I'll definitely be paraphrasing since it's been awhile) is that Jess joked about smashing the vase at the end but wasn't actually going to until Alex gave her some sort of indication that she should do it and Rhod got genuinely upset! Production actually ended up gluing it back together for him

This is a random thought, but one of the best things to watch in a week is your Taskmaster videos, so for Christmas can you give us TWO episodes in a week? lol. Worst gifts.. I got one of those 50p fly-away-in-a-slight-breeze plastic footballs for my 10th birthday. I remember that was the first time I had to fake happiness at a gift, both parents had just lost their jobs. Expectations were high because all my friends had got something extra special for their 10th, it felt like the first landmark birthday before 13, 18 and 21. Bloody hell, keep it light Matt :D

Re: the fireworks - November 2nd is significant because it is just three days before November 5th, which is "Guy Fawkes' Night", "Bonfire Night". or even just "Fireworks Night" in the UK. It's the day we celebrate, with fireworks, the capture of the conspirator Guy Fawkes after he unsuccessfully plotted to destroy the houses of parliament with barrels of gunpowder. Although fireworks have become increasingly available year-round in recent years, they remain far easier to obtain in October and November.
