No, on laptops you have to the option to power them directly from the charger or the battery and I use the charger option so the actual battery never gets used and so there's no risk of overheating it.

HAHAHAHHAHAHA!! Reminds me of the guy that couldn't open his car because his key fob battery died and called a locksmith. After the locksmith started he explained that his key died. The locksmith says " Wait, you have the KEY?" The guy hands over the key and the locksmith puts in it in the keyhole and keeps eye contact with the guy as he opens the car door. Locksmith laughed his head off. Lol

Looking forward to more of this one! 😄 Like with most shows, it gets better as it goes on, and personally I find Season 2 is where it finds its groove. I love scenes with the boss Denholm, he's so intense and intimidating and unpredictable 😆 Glad I missed the drama in the poll 😆 Whilst I may be in complete disagreement with the creator on certain issues, it doesn't change the fact that IT Crowd and Father Ted etc are good shows, and it won't stop me enjoying them. Shows as big as this have so much creative talent anyway in terms of writers, actors, producers, etc, it would be silly to throw out the efforts of all those people because of one man.

To fix the computer, my thought is to go into Device Manager and delete the display driver. Then when you boot normally, not in safe mode, the display should show ok as it’s now using a generic/standard display driver. You can then install the correct display driver from the manufacturer’s website or maybe just via Windows Updates. Hope that might help if you haven’t fixed this already. Great reaction video Mandy. Looking forward to more episodes of the IT Crowd! :)

But there is a laugh track. I can hear it. The laughter might be coming from an audience that is watching the show rather than being recorded from an audience watching Mrs Brown's Boys but it's still a laugh track that the sound engineer has put on.

Hi Miss Mandy 👋, just thought I should correct something. They didn't use a laugh track, it is an actual live audience here. Don't know if that changes anything for you but there it is. Still enjoying the reactions. I think this one might grow on you. And frankly, it's probably worth watching just for Ayoade. It's funny how for most of us, we first meet Richard Ayoade watching this, not knowing the actor beyond this character. Then when we saw him as himself in shows after this, it's like,"ohh... so... he's actually kinda like Moss. But you already knew him. So... not sure what that was all about. Anyway, hope your situation improves soon, or already has. 'Hang in there baby' 👋Byyyeeee 🤗

"Does it get less goofy?" Maybe this comparison can help: This show is similar to Mr. Bean that I know you've watched. But some parts are similar to something like Blackadder and Fawlty Towers that I know you didn't watch yet. The closest American comedy to this would be Seinfeld or Curb your enthusiasm. Maybe you are familiar with those. It's quite different from shows like Friends, HIMYM, TBBT, The Office. It's quite different because it doesn't have dramatic or romantic subplots. It's a pure comedy show. It doesn't have emotional rollercoasters, complex relationships, breakups, tensions, tragedies etc. It's a zany light-hearted show whose sole purpose is to make people laugh. At least that's how I personally see it.

Haha, I was like "uh-oh laugh track!" I hate them too, but I like how it's used here. I think this show does get more absurd but it gets better too? Plus some fun guests and surprises you might be familiar with coming up. Anyway, this show makes me think of Python's TV show and "The Office" combined. And the main 3 cast have such good timing! It might take a little getting used to, but I hope you like it!

Highly disagree that Graham Linehan is a bad person, he simply wants to protect Women rights and Children's safety from life altering surgeries before they know the lifelong consequences. And for that he's lost his career and gets death threats on a daily basis similar to the hate J.K. Rowling gets. But anyway I don't want to get into arguments with anyone, this is supposed to be a happy fun place so can we all agree to disagree and keep politics out of this from now on and just let's have a laugh at this great show.

Love this show and it is a bit of an outlier for me as goofy, slightly surreal comedy isn't usually my thing. I prefer realism, generally. But this is a great example of how to do it well. I don't agree with Linehan's views but he was a good writer. I'll leave that there. Regarding the laughter track, this isn't really a thing in the UK. Whilst this style is far less common these days, and modern comedy is generally not filmed in front of a live studio audience, The IT Crowd and many sitcoms before (and a few after) were. But that's the distinction - the laughter is real laughter from an audience watching it. The same laughter you'll hear on Graham Norton for example. I have no doubt that jokes that didn't land as well as Linehan or the actors wanted them to may have been tweaked a little or laughter recorded and edited in, but these edits are usually minimal, and it's generally a "live" capture of genuine laughter at the joke in question. As such, it isn't a laughter track, but live studio audience laughter. Of course, audiences are warmed up by a comedian and encouraged to be vocal, so you'll get a bit more laughter than someone watching at home. I think being in a room with other people also encourages laughter, so there's a bit of that going on too. Great show - this pilot isn't all that great though IMHO. There are much better episodes to come and the first episode of series 2..... brace yourself! :-D

Not sure about for this pilot but I know for most of the show it's actually filmed in front of a live audience so no laugh track. Regarding goofiness it's definitely a part of it but as someone who ALSO worked in IT it's scary how accurate it is in a lot of cases even if just a little heightened. For example. Once had a guy call up saying his monitor had died. Tried to help him and asked him to look down the back and see if any of the cables was loose "I can't" he says. "How come?" I say. "because we've had a power cut so all the lights have gone out and it's dark down there" he says...

The show is really good and it definitely gets better don't worry. And out of all the casts that appears in this show, 2 has done Taskmaster but I'm not gonna say who. You would recognize one in the later episodes.

Yay Mandy! I know you're going to love the show. It gets better and better. Linehan does have unfortunate views, but he still created one of the funniest shows ever and we should be able to acknowledge that. Regarding the title; many people don't realise, but it's actually a play on the expression "The it crowd", largely used in the late 20th century, referring to the most popular socialites that must be at any respectable high society party for it to be considered a success. The writers obviously thought it amusing to contrast this with the nerdy, unpopular and unappreciated IT people that work in the basement of this office.
